I guess I can see why it would have appeared I was singling out Matthews as a guy who 'blew through' the money, but I really wasn't intending to. I just used that number because it was mentioned in the earlier post. I was really just speaking to how astronomically insane these salaries are, and how to an average joe it's enough money for several lifetimes plus... it's absolutely mind-boggling that a decent number of athletes, making this kind of money, end up broke/in debt.

No reason to think Clay is in that boat, however... and a guy as high-profile as he was in his NFL career, we'd have heard about it if he was.
