Here's how I view the Packers OL situation.
Locks (7)
Rasheed Walker. Solid starting left tackle
Aaron Banks. Just signed a new contract
Elgton Jenkins. Established, versatile veteran
Sean Rhyan. Solid starting right guard
Zach Tom. Roster cornerstone
Jordan Morgan. 2nd year 1st round pick
Anthony Belton. Rookie 2nd round pick
Very Likely to make the team (2)
Jacob Monk. 2nd year 5th round pick with experience at both Center and Guard
John Williams. 7th round rookie and Brian Gutekunst rarely cuts his draft picks
Solid depth (3)
Kadeem Telfort. Played a couple dozen snaps in 2024
Travis Glover. 2nd year 6th round pick who played a handful of snaps at both tackle and guard
Donavan Jennings. Experienced at both center and guard.
For those keeping count, that's 12 guys who would be perfectly serviceable on the 53 man roster and the Packers traditionally keep 9-10 guys.
So should the Packers just cut these guys or should they explore trading someone?
Sean Rhyan and Rasheed Walker are both entering a contract year and Elgton Jenkins is not thrilled with his shift/contract position. If Jordan Morgan and Anthony Belton show up to camp and look like they're ready to contribute, should the Packers look to make a move?
Here's a hypothetical. Which of these two scenarios would you prefer?
A. A team trades a 2026 4th round pick for Sean Rhyan.
B. Sean Rhyan plays in 2025, signs a 3-year $30M contract elsewhere in 2026 (the same contract Jon Runyan got), and the Packers receive a 2027 5th round pick.
If Jordan Morgan looks like he's ready to start, I don't know why the Packers shouldn't look to make a move.
