Cut 2 times in 2 years. 22 carries on a team that had a bunch of injuries at his position and he averaged 3.2 yards, with one of the best play callers in the game, calling the plays and deciding to release him.
That said, Kyle Shanahan specializes in zone runs, and that's one reason I hope that LG Banks might be better on the Packers, as LaFleur has had switched over to power blocking, which I think could fit Banks a lot better.
Maybe that would help this RB too... when he's in the backfield, I certainly see him reading the field and making a cut... but once he commits, it looks like he pretty much just runs in a fairly straight line, at least in that highlights packages, even with east and west, he doesn't suddenly make a big cut latter, which might not be the best for zone.
Also something to mention, the RB spent most of the year on the Jets, where coach Nathaniel Hackett was the offense coordinator. So they probably asked Hackett about him, as Hackett is on the team and had insight into the player.
