He could be on the field developing into the kind of player I think he could be, but instead, he spends another year sitting behind a guy who (conventional wisdom says) will not be here beyond this year. To me, that's a wasted year.
And plus, it's not like the guy he's replacing is anything to write home about. We're not talking about replacing David Bahktiari here.
Play the guy with the higher ceiling. At this point, the more he plays, the quicker he gets to that ceiling. But instead, no, let's waste a year having him sit on the bench while we play a barely adequate lame duck at LT.
