With Hobbs sidelined, the Packers are considering signing free agent cornerback Asante Samuel Jr., Matt Schneidman of TheAthletic.com reports.

Interestingly it sounds like the Packers attempted to get Samuel to do a pre-season meeting to try to get him interested in potential signing with the Packers once he got healthy.


But Samuel turned the Packers down, supposedly because once he got healthy enough, he wanted to sign with a team that would let him start right away, in hopes of a quick rebound and showing that he should be a big money FA for the 2026 FA class, and I guess he or his agent didn't think that would happen in Green Bay.


Instead during the Pre-Season Samuel supposedly met with the Saints, Dolphins and Bills.

Now it sounds like the Lions might be out, but the rest of the NFC North might be interested in Samuel.
