I do have a clue who LaFleur likes (other than those that have been reported publicly)...

But LaFleur and Raheem Morris have been on the same coaching staffs.

2012-13 on Washington

2015-16 on Atlanta

Not at the same time, but both spent time with Sean McVays Rams.



I still don't know why Jerry Gray and the Packers had the fall out that they did, other than difference of opinions... but Raheem Morris went on to hire Raheem Morris, and I think Gray brought Justin Hood from the Packers with him (via a promotion).


Falcons also had TE coach Kevin Koger, which supposedly the Packers were upset to lose to the Chargers (for a promotion again), but maybe Morris talked to others before hiring Koger. Though speculation.



So LaFleur certainly has some connections with Raheem Morris.

But if the Packers defensive coordinator position opens up, I think they also have to look at Derrick Ansley for an inhouse option. And we have added a couple of guys with clear connections to Ansley (former Alabama guys that he recruited).


And just want to mention that the Falcons had Jeff Ulbrich as defense coordinator, who was also defensive coordinator for Robert Saleh when they were with the Jets, and Saleh is supposedly LaFleur's best friend, and Saleh is the one that either suggested or recommended Hafley.
