In today's NFL, there are sooooo many WR screens and quick throws to the boundary that CBs have to be able to tackle.
Generally speaking, teams run the ball on 45 % of the downs, but most fans don't consider that when looking for outside CBs.
We don't know what/how Gannon will play his defensive scheme yet, but in other places he was very heavy on playing dime compared to other DCs.
GB has the 3 safeties already in X-man, Williams and Bullard. They need 3-4 boundary CBs they can count on and there's only 1-2 on the roster today.
If I had to guess, it will be (1) early pick, (1) late pick and (1) mid-range vet (T.Diggs ?)added to that room in March-June.
Gute snatched up one CB to a futures contract recently and then you have Kamal Hadden and Hobbs coming off the IR.
Not sure if Bo Melton is anything more than a utility guy as far as CB goes and he's a ERFA in March.
