So in a classic 34 defensive front, you've got a true nose going head up against the Center, two DEs who are usually 290+, and two OLBs who can either rush the passer or drop in coverage. I know most 34 Ds don't actually play with three guys with their hand in the dirt, but humor me for a second.

As of right now, the NT is probably Colby Wooden or Nasir Stackhouse. Neither are great and could probably use an upgrade.

Devonte Wyatt is the front runner for one of the DE spots but I do worry is lack of runstopping ability will only get amplified in an odd front.

But here's what I'm very curious about. Who's the other DE? There's been a lot of discussion about the NT spot that I don't think we've considered the other 4i/5-tech along the line.

Karl Brooks? Warren Brinson? Maybe Lukas Van Ness puts on an extra 5-10 lbs and plays more inside?

Ultimately they need someone who can line up on the inside shoulder of the OT and hold point so the OLBs can feast (I can't wait to see Micah Parsons in this defense).

Is the obvious answer just to go sign Calais Campbell?

The fact that they have Evan Williams and Edgerrin Cooper who are both great at stopping the run from depth makes me less concerned about the DE spot, but still something I'm keeping an eye on.
