As far as I'm concerned, the NFL is bringing this on themselves in multiple ways.

Just like College football bought the players changes on themselves.


They have been warned, and just keep ignoring the warnings, chasing the money... if they keep ignoring the warnings government or legal system will have to make a change at some point.


Technically, that law is the only thing stopping them from being a monopoly to the board caster... and so they need to follow that law, otherwise, they're doing something illegal.

Also based on the past Dish lawsuits, the NFL has been doing something illegal for decades now, purposely jacking up the prices... and that would be admissible in court, so the NFL would likely lose any lawsuits as Dish already has.


So this is entirely on the NFL, and how much they want to push the envelope, whole chasing money, knowing that continuing to push it will break it and cost them money.


I think they're calling the bluff, or ignoring any consequences and that's on the NFL.
