my first detector

My first detector was a D-Tex Electronics, Tiny Tex metal detector with a 4" coil. Runs on a 9 volt transistor battery and has one knob and two settings metal/minerals. I bought this in 1972 and my understanding it was built in 1968. This is an old school transistor detector that is sharp and has out performed some of my more expensive and up to date detectors. It basically goes by sound. I paid $49.95 for it at that time direct from D-TEX. I have been told that it is rare, most are long gone and are worth many more times than I paid for it. I love this detector and it always comes along with me and the other detectors when I am out in the field. Any information on this would be appreciated. Regard, Robert - Happy Hunting !
