Continued from previous…
(Hans): Yeah…
(Mark Spencer): It’s your first time facing him, isn’t it?
(Hans): Yup.
Hans kicks back on the couch, swinging his legs around to rest of the black leather, as he grabs one of the cushions, placing it behind his back to prop himself up.
(Hans): First time against AC. Should be quite the show.
(Mark Spencer): Match. You mean match. Right?
(Hans): You think with all that’s been going on with him since even before ‘The Other Side’, that’ll it be as mundane as that?
(Mark): True, true. Think anything will kick off before Havoc though? He’s got a tongue on him, that boy.
(Hans): Who knows? I think at the moment though he’s going to be more concerned with recovering and getting his strength back up.
(Mark Spencer): His schedule during the Tour was pretty punishing, I have to say.
(Hans): Yeah, double booked at three of the shows, and a fair quota were title defences to boot. Some niggling injuries and bad knocks coming to the fore… I can see him lying low and making sure he’s on the mend first of all.
(Mark Spencer): He’ll still be dangerous.
(Hans): I wouldn’t expect anything less from AC. Still, if I can get a few early hits in, dictate a high tempo to our match and start wearing down that arm of his, then I’d say that the ball would be firmly in my own court.
(Mark Spencer): Well I’ll have my fingers crossed for you Hans. Don’t want you going in a downward spiral after your title loss.
(Hans): Rest assured Mark, there’ll be no ‘downward spiral’. What happened to Vanessa kind of put things in perspective, and so… well…
He sighs deeply.
(Hans): … Ronnie’s welcome to it for now. I’ve set the bar, and am considered the greatest All-Star champion ever.
Mark cuts across him, anticipating Hans’ words.
(Mark Spencer): What more could you do?
(Hans): *Chuckles* Exactly.
(Mark Spencer): Admit it though; you’re gutted to lose it.
(Hans): If this is your response to me insinuating that Penny would stray, I apologize wholeheartedly.
Laughter is the response he gets from his friend. Shaking his head from side to side, Hans idly scratches his left shoulder with his free right hand.
(Hans): But yeah… alright, I’ll admit it.
(Mark Spencer): You going to go get it back?
(Hans): It’s a tempting thought mate, but I think I’ll about using this match with AC to set about making a move for the World title.
(Mark Spencer): You think you’re ready for it?
(Hans): I’ve got a two to one record over Eddie. Yeah, I think I’m ready for it.
(Mark Spencer): Well getting one over AC would certainly cement you as a contender. But you’ll need something to put you above the others, as Eddie’s not exactly the one to go looking for challengers. Something that gives him no alternative but to face you…
A sly grin begins to form on Hans’ face at his friend’s words.
(Hans): Ringmaster.
(Mark Spencer): Yeah, Ringmaster.
(Hans): I think you might be onto something there…
A contemplative expression begins to form as he continues.
(Hans): Certainly doable if I play my cards right and stick to doing only what’s necessary to progress.
(Mark Spencer): No way Eddie, let alone anyone else could deny what you wished.
The faint sound of sheets being thrown back, and the sound of a cast being placed onto the wooden floor of the bedroom distracts Hans.
Hans covers the phone with one hand, twisting his head around to direct his voice at the door.
(Hans): That you awake honey?
The faint, and sleepy response from Vanessa comes back a few seconds later.
(Vanessa): Yuh-huh.
Her words are cut short by what sounds like a yawn.
Hans uncovers the phone, as he swings his feet round onto the floor, and getting to his feet.
(Hans): That’s sleeping beauty up now Mark.
(Mark Spencer): No worries mate. I’ve got two hungry mouths to feed that’ll start getting vocal in the next half hour or so anyway.
(Hans): Well thanks for the call, it was good to talk. And give my love to Penny and the girls. I’ll try and be up your way soon.
(Mark Spencer): Will do Hans. Say hi to Vanessa for me. Take care of yourself.
(Hans): Laters Mark.
He disconnects the call, sliding the iPhone into his pocket, as he heads towards the bedroom door.
The scene fades to black.
