With the best turn out that Ky has ever had in one World Tournament, Knoxville was it. Congrats to ALL that participated and experienced the WT especially those of you first timers. We hope that you had a learning experience. The World Tournament has a different atmosphere than your normal pitching here at home.
For those of you that are interested, Miss Alena Cook, Junior Director for the NHPA, will be writing an article in the "NEWSLINE" Magazine on the Junior Division participation and the results of some the games including the Playoffs and Championship rounds.
For those of you that are not aware, a few of our Ky Juniors set a new World Record. There was a Three way playoff for first place in the same class. These three players were all from Ky, Zach Hankins, Alec Craven, Andrew Annes. According to NHPA President Stu Sipma and Junior Director Alena Cook, this has never happened before in NHPA history. So KY was the first to do this.
The next edition of the NEWSLINE magazine will be the World Tournament edition and this will be a "KEEPSAKE" for our Ky group if you are interested in subscribing, I recommend that you do this. The fee is $12/year. This is a Quarterly magazine and you can subscribe on the NHPA website.
Overall, Ky really made a real presence at the 2012 World Tournament in Knoxville, Even though several were in the same class, Ky was Heard and seen.I'm sure at some point and time, someone was noticing that "BLUE" Shirt. So very proud of ALL of our pitchers and representation in the WT.
We now look forward and will begin looking to the future of Getting the World to Louisville or Lexington for 2015,please support me in this venture for there has already been many tireless hours and e-mails, and phone conversations, knocking on doors etc, to get this here, Stu Sipma will be calling back to Louisville, Ky this week to get a Bid Check written from the Mayors Office in Louisville, Ky, we will also be contacting Lexington as well. The check will be put in escrow to guarantee us a presentation spot in Utah. IF we Do not get the bid, the money is 100% refundable. Please say prayers, keep your fingers crossed that we are successful in getting this worked out and bringing this event to KY in 2015.
Thanks
Laurie
