Re: Percentage Spread
Very interesting statistic Robert, took me a little while to figure out your chart but I get it, Ben's spread was way high and low compared to the others who were mostly in that 26 to 32 % range between high and low games. Years ago when I ran a league a strange statistic abnormality would show up in Omar Blacketer's points per game versus his actual ringer Percentage. Often I and Jimmy Noble would be 10% higher in ringer percent but Omar would still score nearly the same amount of points per game. Meaning he would almost always have a point if not a ringer. So the statistic I came up with was basically counting single points and ringers as the same and dividing that # by the amount of shoes pitched, and sure enough Omar's % on this was around 10 to 12 % better than Noble's and mine. Omar would almost average 96 to 97 % on this statistic and I and Jimmy would be around 10% less than this, although our ringer % would be around 10% more.Always was intrigued by Omar's ability to stay within 6 inches of the stake 96 to 97 % of the time but rarely would he average ringer % over 60% in the league.
