Mrs. D. Eloise Cooper, Age 86, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Monday April 1, 2019 with her family by her side at the Southern Ohio Medical center Portsmouth, Ohio after an extended illness.
Eloise was born in Charters, Kentucky May 27th, 1932 to the late John and Beatrice Thurman Kinney. Eloise was a homemaker and loved to garden in the spring and canning her crops in the fall. She was a member of the Hilltop Tabernacle Church and attended the First Baptist Church in Garrison, Ky., where she taught Sunday School and was in the choir for over 20 years.
Eloise was owner and operator of Eloise Fabrics & Clothing Shop for 15 years. Worked for Cooper Brothers Auto parts from which she retired. She was an avid traveler with her husband Forrest going to various horseshoe tournaments and other festivities.
Surviving Eloise is her husband of 70 and a half years Forrest Q. Cooper whom she married in Camp Dix, Ky., July 30th, 1948.
Two sons- Wayson (Patty) Cooper of South Shore, Ky., Jeff (Debbie R.) Cooper of Morehead, Ky.
14-grandchildren and 21-great-grandchildren also survive who will mourn her passing.
Preceded in death beside her parents was a son- Miles Q. Cooper in 2003, five sisters- Thelma Chinn, Iva Prater, Flo Rayburn, Eula Conley, and Olive Kinney. Eight brothers- Ruben, John, Earl, Harold, Arnold, and Newell Kinney. Two in infancy.
Funeral services will be Saturday April 6, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2nd street Vanceburg, Ky. 41179 with Brother Wes Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Cooper Cemetery Scotts Branch, Ky.
Visitation will be Friday April 5, 2019 from 5-8 pm and from 8:00 am until time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Eloise Cooper will be Wayson Cooper, Jeff Cooper, Kevin Cooper, Joshua Cooper, Chris Cooper, Ashley Cooper, and Greg Cooper.
