CHARLES "TIB" TURNER competed in the Men's State Championship on two occasions, 1985 & 1988. He was also a key figure in the Nicholasville courts and club of that era. He passed in 2015.
Charles "Tib" D. Turner, 73, husband of Phyllis "Penny" Ann Maloney Turner, died Friday, April 10, 2015. He was born December 14, 1941 to the late H.M. and Elizabeth Turner. Tib attended Greater Faith Apostolic Church, was a professional horse shoe player, collected coke memorabilia and loved UK sports. Family survivors also include four daughters, Angie (Randy) Myers, Tonia (Rick) Reynolds, Tabatha Turner and Sandra (Rex) Gardner, eight grandchildren, Megan and Morgan Myers, Brandon (Janie) and Jeremy Reynolds, Amber and Nikki Meador and Hunter and Kaylyn Gardner, five great grandchildren, Keeley Myers, Liam Reynolds, Kaitlyn and Madison Meador and Natalie Glass and other family members. He was also preceded in death by eleven siblings. Services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor William McGraw and Pastor Leonard Plowman officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Bearers will be Randy Myers, Rick, Brandon and Jeremy Reynolds, Everett Meador, Rex and Hunter Gardner.
