Rev. Jimmie Douglas Baker, 86, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Monday January 4, 2021 at his home in Elizabethtown.
He was born to George and Cora Baker in Burdine, KY. Rev. Baker pastored at Stephensburg Church of God of Prophecy for over 30 years. He was a bishop and a long time member of Church of God of Prophecy throughout several states. Jimmie was a horseshoe player and beekeeper hobbyist as well as an Army Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ralph J., Earl L., and Lonnie W. Baker.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah J. Baker of Elizabethtown; son, Paul D. (Carol) Baker of Elizabethtown; two daughters, Delores J. (Larry) Barnett of Lawrenceburg and Audra (Kian) Adyani of Indio, CA; two sisters, Phyllis (Chuck) Hall of Lorain, OH and Thelma (Clyde) Stanley of Burdine; two brothers, Charles E. (Christine) of Ely, OH and Bobby R. (Faye) Baker of Sugar Grove, VA; five grandchildren, Tara Calhoun, Lindsey Bruce, Alex Barnett, Lance Baker and Amanda Adyani; and five great-grandsons, Carter T. and Lincoln Bruce, Easton Calhoun, Korbyn Barnett and Xavier Corona.

Funeral Services will be held Friday January 8, 2021 11:00 a.m. at New River Worship Center, 179 Blair Hill Lane, Elizabethtown, KY (off Battle Training Road) with Rev. Jerry Caudill, Rev. John Calhoun and Rev. Jeff Gillenwater officiating. Burial will be held at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens with military honors.
Visitation will be Thursday 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the service at 11:00 a.m. at the New River Worship Center.
Due to COVID-19, the family asks that every visitor wear a mask or face cover and practice social distancing.
