Mike rode with us, The Death Riders, for a few shows. That was in the mid 70's. He thought he and Knievel were the only ones that could wheelie until he realized just about each one of us (and everybody else that raced or did stunts) had been doing wheelies for years. He could ride pretty good but we broke his collarbone with a faulty ramp of ours so he didn't last long with us. Kinda broke his spirit a bit and he never came back but I think that it was due to him wanting to be on his own and not share the spotlight. He brought his own ramp to do a similar stunt you see in the video but on a smaller scale. Maybe 4 feet tall and a final angle of about 55 degrees. He jumped over Rusty (our clown) who was 6'4" with relative ease but the crowd didn't have much enthusiasm so we didn't use it anymore. Good guy, we all got along with him just fine but didn't last long - we had about 20 of those guys that came and went fairly quickly. He was an exception in that he showed up with a good bike, leathers, a van and he could ride.

Would love to see the actual complete jump footage.
It's obvious the stills were from film.
