2021 GENERAL RULES
General Rules & Procedures - 2021
Rules and procedures hereby set forth are for the orderly conduct of racing events. These
are minimum requirements for racing events and shall govern such events. All
participants of racing events shall comply with these rules and procedures.
No express or implied warranty of safety shall result from publications or compliance
with these rules and procedures. They in no way guarantee against injury or death to a
participant, spectator or official. Only race director shall permit minor deviations or
interpretations of these rules and procedures. His decision is final.
Anyone found guilty of the use of mercury or any other contaminated materials will be
barred from speedway and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. No alcoholic
beverages or illegal drugs will be consumed in pits by driver, crewmember or fans before
or during racing events. Anyone caught abusing an official or any track employee
physically and/or verbally will be suspended and/or barred for the season and prosecuted
to the fullest extent of the law. All monies or points will be forfeited.
Mottville Speedway reserves the right to line up the starting fields as it sees fit.
No driver, owner or crew member shall claim damages or expenses of any type against
promoter, track owners or officials by reason of disqualification or damage to car, driver
or both. Drivers, owners and crew members agree that the track is in a safe condition
when and if they participate in racing activities. Drivers are responsible for actions of
crew members and car owners. If anyone leaves their pit area to confront another driver
or crew member, the driver will loose the point and pay for that night, as well the person
leaving the pit area will be banned for 1 week.
All cars subject to inspection at any time. All cars are to be kept in a neat and painted
appearance. All cars are required to be equipped with approved mufflers. No more than
100 DBA at 100'. No anti-freeze allowed, any car that is found to have antifreeze will
forfeit all pay and points for the evening.
All Classes: must have a number; minimum 18”x3”; on both sides of car .
All lead shall be painted white with car number. All drive shafts to be painted white. All cars are to have window nets.
No glass containers in the pits or in the grand stands. No soaking of tires at the track. If you are caught soaking tires at the track,it is an automatic 1 year suspension. If you are caught drinking alcohol in the pits during a racing event you will be asked to leave and barred for 1 week.
No tires are to be left at track. Any person doing so will be fined $25.00 for each tire left
at track. Amount due before coming back to track. No dumping of oil on premises. Oil
spills must be cleaned up per EPA standards. If caught disposing of oil, antifreeze or
other contaminants, you will be fined and face possible banishment from track. No
cooking in pit area, except in approved areas.
All cars are to be registered. If a driver is participating in more than one class, there will be an additional pit pass price deducted from his/her pay-off.
All cars going to pits will start in the rear (unless the car was judged to be not at fault in an accident) and can only come back onto the track under yellow or red flag conditions.
No stopping on track to work on car at any time is allowed. The car must be returned to the pits
for any type of adjustments by driver or crewmember. Stopping to argue with official could
result in disqualification.
Single car spin out In heat/dash/pursuit will result in dq from that event. 3rd time in feature.
All jack stands to have 1/8 inch minimum plate welded on bottoms
THE DECISION OF TRACK OFFICIALS IS FINAL.
MOTTTVILLE SPEEDWAY 2021 STREET STOCK RULES
. All vehicles must have a minimum of a 4 post roll cage with at least 3 bars at the driver’s door and a welded or bolted steel plate of 1/8” x 10” x 30” at the driver’s door.
. A full 5 point restraint system is required and may be no older than 3 years old.
. Window nets must be used at all times. Neck collars or HANS type devices are required for all participants. A minimum 2 1/2” lb. fire extinguisher is required to be securely mounted within the driver’s reach. All Cars must have shut off switch next to the driver’s window which can easily be reached from the outside of the car.
Bodies must be stock appearing and constructed of: Steel, Aluminum or Fiberglass or plastic. . Nose and Tailpieces must be stock appearing. 5 Star plastic type are allowed. Template body ok, tubular frame ok if stock appearing.
. . Hood and trunk must be operable and held down with 4 quick release hood type pins.. Front and rear bumpers must be covered. Pipes may not protrude through bumper covers. Rear spoilers are allowed with a maximum size of 6 1/2” x 60”. Spoilers must be centered and mounted flat. Nerf bars must be no larger than 1” in diameter and smoothly capped. A minimum of 4 smooth head bolts must be used for securement. Carriage or equivalent bolts recommended. Bolts must be mounted with the head to the outside of vehicle. Batteries are to be covered and securely fastened. No rubber or plumbing straps allowed.
22 gallon maximum capacity fuels cells are required. Must be a minimum of 8” from ground. . Floorboard under driver must be stock or constructed of steel. Minimum wheelbase of 102” Maximum track width of 78”. Measured outside to outside at the ground. Front and rear hoops may be added.. Minimum frame ground clearance of 4” with driver in the vehicle. 4 corner jack bolts are allowed. All Stock mounts must be used for: Suspension, Engine and Running Gear.
Steel tubular upper a arms are allowed providing they are one piece construction with steel crossbars and non-adjustable ball joints. .Lower control arms must be stock and in a stock position. Spindles must be stock appearing and be cast iron or steel. Coil springs must be a minimum of 5” in diameter.
Shocks must be economy type permanently enclosed steel shocks and non adjustable. Coil over shocks, bump stops or tie downs are not permitted. . Sway bars must remain in stock position. No splined bars. . Stock Steering Boxes only. No Rack and Pinion Steering. . 9” Ford differentials are permitted and must have steel axle tubes.
. Quick Change differentials are prohibited. . 3 link or panhard bar set ups are permitted. . No chassis adjustments are to be made from the driver’s compartment. This includes electronic or manual traction control devices. . Wide 5 hubs are not permitted. All weight must be painted white and be marked with the car number for identification. Weight must be mounted with a minimum of grade 5 bolts or 1/2” grade A threaded rod. Hoosier 790/800, Commanche tires only.800 D NOT ALLOWED! Street legal DOT radials ok. 2. 8” wide maximum diameter safety wheels only. . Tires and Wheels must remain inside body.
2021 MOTTVILLE SPEEDWAY OUTLAW FWD RULES
BODY-A. Must be a FWD subcompact, 4 OR 6 cylinder model.
Station wagons, and pickups are allowed. No convertibles or 4 wheel drives., no trubo or super charged engines, no rotary or Cosworth engines. B. Adjustable trailing arms ok. Racing shocks ok. Screw jacks allowed..Racing clutch ok.
C. Body must be sheet metal or aluminum and stock appearing. . Pickups must enclose bed. Stock appearing aftermarket noses are allowed. Late model appearing bodies ok if rear end enclosed and they otherwise meet rules.
D. Doors must be welded or bolted shut. Fiberglass hood OK, no holes.
E. Except windshield, remove all glass. Max 6 “ spoiler no wider than rear deck.
F. Safety constructed 4 post cage with minimum of three bars on drivers side and one bar on passenger side. Window net required.G. Must have firewall between driver and engine,and driver and fuel tank.
H. Fenders may be trimmed for tire clearance only.
I. Rear bumper cover required!!!!!.
J. Hood and trunk must be pinned. No bolting down.
K. stock type A-arms, struts, and ball joints only.Slip on coil sleeves ok.
L. Cars must remain original track width as manufactured.
M. aftermarket brake pedal assemblies allowed.N. No coil-over type adjusters. .
O. No quick change type or trick automatic transmissions or rear ends. 9 inch Ford rear end ok with 4 link.
A. Engine must be 4 or 6 cylinder. B. Heads must not be after market. After market intake ok.
C. Exhaust must be single and completely sealed and must go past doors. Headers will be allowed.100 DB muffler mandatory!
D. Aftermarket Ignition system allowed.. E.Aftermarket cap and wires allowed.1 gal radiator overflow can required. . Fuel cells are strongly recommended. Fuel tank must be safely secure with 4 steel straps. If moving fuel tank into hatchback area or pickup bed must have firewall between driver. Fuel cells must be enclosed in steel can.
F. Steel lines or braided hose must be used as fuel line from fuel tank to carburetor. .No fuel line in cockpit area.
TIRES AND WHEELS – Max 8 inch wheel. Tire Is Hoosier 790, 800 or any 60, 65,70, 75 or 80 Series, 175-235 radials.. No Recaps, , McCreary, or aftermarket “made for racing” tires(except Hoosier 790/800), .NO tire soaking or “compound enhancers” allowed. Steel wheels only.
2021 MOTTVILLE SPEEDWAY HORNET RULES
Any 4 or 6 cylinder FWD (6 cylinders must be automatic). Max. of 3.4 liter engine. No super charged or turbo charged motors.NO AWD or 4 WD! Engine with manufacture’s markings removed must move up to Compacts!! Working rev limiter required! Stock OEM engine unaltered. ALL GEARS MUST WORK AND ND WELDED GEARS!
Stock ride height must be maintained. NO V-TECH ENGINES!
No headers, Exhaust must exit behind the driver. Stock diameters on exhaust. Doors must be chained or welded shut. Stock from factory everywhere. Add cage and go racing only.. . There is no rule on the maximum amount of RIGHT front camber allowed . . Hood must be secured with hood pins only. Suspension –Stock! NO spring rubbers! Steering and suspension must remain stock. No modifications. All airbags must be deactivated. Stock transmissions all gears must work.
. Stock pump gas only-no racing fuel. Officials have the right to reject any car from competing
Body Sun roof openings must be enclosed with steel. All glass except windshield must be removed.
No ballast may be added. Must have stock unaltered springs for that year of car. No spacers.
Tires DOT tires of 60,65,70,75,78 No trailer tires or wheels!!
Maximum rim diameter 16''. .A safety wheel, on the right front and RIGHT REAR only, with no deeper than a 3" offset is allowed._ No racing or directional high performance tires are allowed.
No shaving,or buffing of tire .No offset rims! Same size tires on front and same size tires on rear required! Safety -
Helmet must meet minimum DOT standard, Snell Approved. Fire Suit and Gloves are STRONGLY RECOMMENDED!. Long sleeve shirt mandatory otherwise. Neck roll or Hans device strongly recommended!
Racing seat and belts STRONGLY RECOMENDED! 4 Post roll café or roll bar strongly recommended! Door bars strongly recommended! Fire Extinguisher Required 2 lb BC rated mounted in quick release mount within reach.
. FOR SAFETY . You are allowed to run a minimum 1.75"x0.90 diameter bar between the front struts and front frame horns.
However no additional bars! No x’s, no floor bars! No tying struts together! FOR RADIATOR PROTECTION YOU CAN RUN A HOOP WITH 2 DOWN BARS NO BIGGER THAN 11/2 INCH SQUARE OR ROUND TUBING. YOU CAN RUN DOWN BARS DOWN TO FRAME BUT NOT TO STRUTS!
