Last week I floated the idea of opening the historic Mottville Speedwa for hot laps and a work day on March 21 if enough people were interested to make it worthwhile!
However, zero response.
Plus now the early forcast for March 21 is a high of 37 degrees!
So we will NOT hot lap March 21!
Back to the original schedule of hot lapping and work days March 28 and April 4 from 2-6 PM.
For the work days scheduled we need people with saws, drills and bolt cutters to work on bleacher boards!
Tuesday I bought a used truck for the track and had to get plates.
Nappanee BMV is open Monday-Wednesday and Friday.
But Walkerton is open Tuesday and Thursday and since I bought the truck in Walkerton that worked out great!
I also discovered the same staff works both locations!
The new truck is full size, 5 speed manual and lots of power!
Should have no problem pushing street stocks and dragging the drives and pits!
Our track officials are about all set for the season but we sure could use at least two more members for our track crew!\
SHARON ROOT IS OIUR NEW TRACK PHOTOGRAPHER!
And, no, so far I have not seen anything that would prevent us running our regular schedule!
Our concessions are carry out only!
26 days to the season opens but only 12 to first hot lap session!
We are most anxious!
2020 we open the racing season with Street Stocks, Compacts and Hornets!
It will be season #70 for the track and season # 30 for current ownership.
