I'm trying something new this year. The butia, waggie and med fan, have 1 string of mini-lights on a thermocube, are wrapped in frost cloth and the cage will be shrinkwrapped. The gargbage can lids will keep moisture out of the crown, and with this method, I think it will leave enough space for ventilation. The minors are in the green huts stuffed with leaves.
Roses still blooming
In the green huts here are Pink China and Bikini-tini EE's stuffed with leaves, still need more bags of leaves for the basjoo, and the black box on the right is a trachy with 100 mini lights on a Thermocube, frostcloth in in my compost bin stuffed with leaves (this has worked for me before).
The med fan, leaf cages for extra mulch for perennials including ginger and black calla and some first year semi-hardies, in the green huts are a needle, gardenia, and mahonia Soft Caress stuffed with leaves. Just in case, I also put green huts on Osmanthus Goshiki and April Kiss camellia. I had extra huts and it can't hurt.
