Re: A few pics from today
The Sabal is entering it's 3rd winter now. I'd say it's only done OK... It received some damage last winter even with moderate protection. It is very slow growing too, with only around 2 new fronds per year. I need to get my hands on a McCurtain to see if it is any more cold hardy.
The Heather is a new experiment this year, they seem to be happy so far. I hope they do well, as I really like the bright colors of the foliage.
The Camellias are also new this year. I've been impressed so far with how the flowers on the Winter's Interlude have handled temps in the mid 20's F. In retrospect, however, I'd probably should have picked an even earlier flowering selection. The Winter's Interlude still has quite a few unopened buds and I don't think it will be able to open too many more up before the real cold weather arrives.
