Re: Sunday looking to drop us to our normal 7a..pray for no 6b
I know the feeling. I haven't posted here in a long while but had to find a place to "share the pain". This winter - with the plummeting forecast for Sunday night, now 0F at my location - has been on a horrible trajectory of:
it probably won't be as bad as last winter
it doesn't seem like it's going to be as bad as last winter
no, it's not going to be as bad as last winter
well, it's proving worse than expected, but it still won't be as bad as last winter
wait, is there still time for it to be as bad as last winter?
OMG - it could actually become worse than last winter!
My low last winter was 3F, for 2006-2013 it had been 7F.
This is from the local Mt. Holly forecaster, hard to say if it's bleak good news or bleak bad news:
We will be pushing toward record lows on Sunday night. It appears
the gradient should continue through the night. The lack of
decoupling will actually keep temperatures higher and may advect in
warmer air into our County Warning Area toward morning. When air masses are this
cold (picture those late 1970s air masses), strange things like
temperatures rising with northwest winds can occur. Very little
Comfort as we will likely need either wind chill advisories or
warnings throughout our County Warning Area. The wind chill watch is through
Monday morning for the Poconos.
