At its location well up in NW NJ, the town saw -7F twice already. If it was there last year it saw -13F (and is looking damn good I must say if it was, lol.) Oddly, the Low this Sunday for it is "only" -2F, lol.
I've mentioned once that High Point, NJ is as far north as Nantucket, MA. The Monkey Puzzle I found is less than 20 miles south of HP. So HP is only westward from Nantucket, but just way farther inland of course (never measured how many miles west)...but regardless is a much more "interior" location, with the Monkey Puzzle at over 600ft. elevation too.
So considering all that, even though you're having a rough Winter now, I hope it sounds more encouraging, for your Monkey Puzzle, Rostratas and the others. And if you are getting sub-zero temps and duration, maybe the deep snowcover will be a blessing?
