I took my dog Skippy down to Rehoboth Beach yesterday... but half the beach was missing!
It wasn't so obvious at first until I realized that the beach should be twice as wide!
In the southern end of town, the dunes were built up by the wind.
And the sand covered the boardwalk.
On the northern end of town, the dunes collapsed and left a tiny beach:
But on the PLUS side, the dunes did their job and protected the town!
2 blocks inland, the surviving Trachycarpus Palms on Baltimore Avenue looked fine and appear to be recovering nicely from last winter. Also, note Yucca aloifolia on right and Needle Palms in center.
