Yup, we had the same thing up here along the coast in MA. This is definitely the earliest frost in several years here. The typical first frost at my house has generally been between Oct. 31 and Nov. 10. Bananas, figs, and the hot peppers all looked OK after Saturday... our low was around 34F. However, a few degrees colder this morning (plus some frost) did them in.
I have a few potted hardy palms too (Trachy and Chamearops)... I probably won't worry about them until the forecast lows are in the low to mid 20's, which should hopefully give them another month or so according to the current long range forecasts.
