The only other 'free' space I have in my property is prone to late-winter flooding, so I'm saving that for wet-tolerant species like Illicium. I don't think my citrus would do well there. Also, in that little corner where the Citrus is I have a trachycarpus and a loquat. Something's gotta go :-(
This was the Sabals first winter on the ground, and apparently that green tarp only protects against snow loads (and deflects some wind). Sun still gets through. They are not as effective as a rose cone (or maybe even a trash can). I was very dissapointed with them.
