yes, nice clump of Yuccas. I agree with Benny that the 'best' way to ID the gloriosa/recurvifolia forms is by seed pod characteristics since there are so many forms. I see traits of both recurvifolia and gloriosa in your photo. Many of the 'original' plant descriptions claim that Yucca gloriosa flowers start above the leaf tips (which is the characteristic in your photo). Yucca recurvifolia flowers start inside the leaf tips such as these blooms (off web): Where Y. gloriosa flowers are 'suppose' to start above the leaf tips. This trait seems kinda variable to me. |
