Hey guys. I will be trying to get my YUCCADO Y.torreyi to live one more year here in the appalachian mtns. Its about 3 years old now, has a nice crown going on and a trunk. Its planted up near a brick wall foundation that retains heat well . I just use a lean-to = a large flexiglass sheet to deflect water and snow in winter and this does allow light in also. Question: If kept dry, any ideas how low a temp my Yucca Torreyi could survive in ? I hit -8*f in 2003 and before that a -25*f in 1985. So you see it looks like nothing could ever be 'long term' here if not protected heavily ever decade or so. Thanks. |
