Thanks to Jim K z7a NJ for his info. I expect its much the same in UK. My Yucca has survived the terrible British climate: not so much the near & sub zero winters we've had recently but the relentless rain & also the local clay soil (I gave it some sand). Its now in a pot of peat & sand & looking great.
