Aug 2012 picture of rostrata on the grounds of Fairfax County's animal shelter. I missed getting a picture of it in full bloom this year. You can see that the shelter grounds are under construction.  Another picture from Aug 2012. I believe this is the 2nd time it's flowered. Last inflorescence in 2008 (see 4th picture below).  Another picture from 2012. Note the development of a 2nd head of leaves.  The rostrata in 2008.  |
