It's amazing what you can grow in VA Jim. We have had 18f here in rural Pender Co not far from the coast. It hasn't gotten that cold 100 miles inland in Raleigh. Of course it's been a lot warmer since that cold snap. I can't grow eucalyptus here unless it's against the house. Even figs need protection. Oddly many species of palm are fine here and can't be grown in Raleigh for instance. Guess we all have our own specific local growing conditions.
