usually faxonii blooms when treculeana is about done. Am guessing that the second bad winter in a row here in SE NC has changed the bloom times. Will try to hybridize but have had no success in the past. Hwy 421 pale blue (recurvifolia) are also about to open. that would be a more interesting cross if it gave more hardiness to the trec/fax.
