Tim, We had a relatively "mild" winter, the coldest it got was on valentine's day weekend where it fell to -22 F (-30C) for a few days but we still had a blanket of snow for 2 months+, this spring has been one of the worst in recent memory, colder than last year, recently we had a few days between 68-70 f but it is always followed by a drastic drop, as I'm writing to you it is 30 f outside brrrr! I even had to cover some plants because there was a risk of wet snow last night! Thank you for the seed offer, I'm very satisfied with the seed you sent me and I got many seedlings waiting for a place outside once we get a more constant warm weather. I have 2 filamentosa x rostrata X arkansana "wide leaf form" seedlings that look like winners & I can't wait to see how they grow in the garden.....the gloriosa "Tenn" X filam x rostrata was a surprise winner, I have a second one indoors that is more than double in size and with bluish green leaves (but no serrated leaf edge).....I'll keep you updated in this forum. |
