This looks like the gloriosa I collected seed from at Topsail Island a few years ago. The pods were dry and variably shaped more like filimentosa than aloifolia. Am pretty sure this is the pic I posted here regarding them about 6 years ago? Eckhard; if the fruit you collected at Kitty Hawk were shriveled and dark blue or black they were probably aloifolia. Aloifolia pods are hard and green when unripe and not capsules.
