Hi, Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re constantly trying to improve Facebook, so it's important that we hear from the people who use it. Unfortunately, we can’t respond to your emails individually, but we are paying attention to them. We appreciate you taking the time to write to us. If you're having any problems with your account, please visit the Help Center (http://www.facebook.com/help) where you'll find information about Facebook as well as the answers to many of your questions. Thanks again for your feedback, There is no help there for removing an account using their useless phone method of verification.
For a company that BRAGS on and on how they want to protect your privacy and safety they expect people to send that kind of info to total strangers most likely in some other country? How can we know what those people who gain access to that info would do with it? What next our SS numbers and Credit card info? I refused and their phone verification doesn't work. My phone never rang and I tried several times. So I can't close that old account.
Now I notice FB wants, demands, you use your real name - not a nym or nickname. WTF? Where's the safety and security in that? Almost anyone can find someone easily using FB. Every group you post on or any fan or community page you post on or anywhere you post on FB your REAL name is right there for millions of strangers to see. How safe is that? What sense does this make? Am I missing something here?
Worse yet, there is no way to reach anyone for help if your account is hacked which is becoming more common on FB all the time. The person uses your real name, in effect, you real account to post porn, threats and the grossest profanity to your family and friends - wherever you post.
There is no email address, no fax number or phone number to reach anyone. FB keeps it's distance from the people making them multimillionaires - us! All they have are a handful of pages where you more or less click on stuff that may or may not have any bearing on the problem.
And I found Googling for info where FB is concerned, a waste of time.
I just received this in the mail from FB - this is the help you get.
