My Dad's final illness (he was 98) included a five day hospital stay and generated a pile of documents two inches thick, most of which I didn't understand. Being a former New York City employee, he had wonderful insurance and the bills, totaling more than $100,000 were paid in full. In fact, there was an overpayment of $140. There being no demands made on his estate, I must confess that we didn't spend much time trying to understand what all the charges were for and all of this happened long befor Obamacare became law. Based on my own experience, I'm not sure that the ACA has made things worse but I do know that it's done good things for a lot of people. The problems that may exist can be fixed and will be fixed. In the meantime, to all the Obama care detractors including the G.O.P., especially the G.O.P.: you got a better idea? Let's hear it!
