BTW, I'm not the only sucker out there with the leaching problem. One woman on an RV group was billed for $600 and is still fighting over it with Verizon. Is bad/defective SIMM cards the fault of the user? I wont repeat the other problems I read about that people had with Verizon. http://www.consumeraffairs.com/cell_phones/verizon_wireless.html https://forums.verizon.com/t5/FiOS-Internet/How-to-file-a-complaint-with-Verizon-customer-service/td-p/353391/page/4
We are doing the exact same thing online we always did. The tech ran a 24 hr test and told me the SIMM card had to be bad (leaching data) and take it to the Verizon store and replace it. That cost over $100. She said we would be compensated. Are you following so far? The bad card was leaching data.
If we suddenly started to watch videos or download music I could see and understand where they're going. Nothing pops up on my screen because I use MFF with ABP. No videos play automatically because I have MFF blocking that. Any music and I close the site. I do not use AOL or MS IE.
But the supervisor said since the man at the Verizon store discarded the SIMM card there is nothing they can do to compensate us. That the woman tech should have told us to keep the SIMM card. What about the man at their store? So it's my fault they would want the damn card and not tell me that? How was I to know that? When the data jumped last fall from 6 to 8 GBs a month to over 10, the tech should have done the 24 hr test but instead they talked him into another 10 GBs for $50.
Where does it end? AGAIN we are doing nothing different than when we were using 6 to 7, rarely 8 GBs yet Verizon never mentioned the test.
The Jetpack itself shows how many GBs were used at any given time. They also send emails. What has that to do with data leaching to their advantage? RR called them several times and got nowhere, it wasn't until I made the call and insisted they find where that data is going that the tech did something about it.... now the excuse is the SIMM card which I would have gladly sent them had I been told to do so. This is how these bastard$ get away with ripping people off.
They always find a way to get out of compensating people. Always some BS reason and they'e getting away with it.
