Re: Go Donald! - Donald - Carol, Elle et al
I vacationed in Mazatlan many years ago with my sister and a travel group from Cal State Northridge. The hotel, right on the beach, was owned by a German with a Mexican wife. Their son, a handsome fellow in his 20s, was running the place, and had a coterie of friends in his employ. They reminded me of Elvis and his entourage. I was in my early 30s, but was traveling with a group of college girls, so we attracted the attention of this Mazatlan Mafia. Nobody really seemed to be working, they were hanger-arounders, hosts and P.R. guys, friends of the owner, who enjoyed hanging with the American co-eds. As a member of the group, I got to know them, too. Every single one of them knew Southern California well, knew where the Social Services office was in my home town ( ! ) and what benefits could be had, had family or friends who could put them up, knew all the tricks. The attitude was smart-alecky and arrogant, they were not the peasant class. This was 40 years ago.
