O. has not done anything to me personally. It is possible that my friend, who now pays $100 more a month for his health plan since Obamacare, may feel otherwise. As they say, it depends on whose ox is being gored. But I'm sure, as an intelligent citizen, he knows that this is not the worst thing that could happen to him. So far, personally, nothing terrible has happened to me. But I do believe this country is weaker and is being perceived as weaker by the way things have gone down on his watch.
I am mainly concerned about the security of this country. I do not underestimate the ambition and barbarity of those who wish us harm. I think of it as prioritization. Women who hurtled through the air 100 storeys to their deaths had no more need for abortion. I do not believe the majority of Americans were against O. because of his color. I do believe the majority were pleased we'd reached that milestone, and were for him for that reason. If that were not true, he would not have been elected twice.
I live in a state that thinks first and foremost of environmentalism. Let me reference "smog" in particular. We've done what was needed, and have done so under all local administrations, both Democrat and Republican.
We are just at the beginning. I look forward to the Democrats' debate in October.
