Some time ago, a PSA reading of "4" caused my P.C.P. to refer me to an Urologist who recommended a Prostate biopsy. The biopsy results were negative but the procedure caused problems for me that lasted several years. (Details will not be provided). I eventually recovered fully but the experience left me angry and resentful. Had I done nothing, I would have been much better off.
I learned a valuable lesson. Doctors who push pills and urge surgery aren't always right. Perhaps some of these guys have forgotten the edict, "Do no harm". I no longer accept medical advice out of hand, I think it over and I don't offer medical advice, I'm unqualified for that but what I've written here works well for me.
