(Hans): Morning Butch.
He thumbs a gesture behind him.
(Hans): Guess who I've brought with me...
As Hans reaches the bottom of the stairs, HWA interviewer Mike Anderson comes into view, raising his hand in greeting; behind him, clumping down the stairs; is a camera crew.
A surprised but welcoming expression paints itself across Butch's sweat-soaked face as he sees Mike Anderson walk in behind Hans.
(Butch): Ah, Mike! It's been a while.
(Mike Anderson): That is has, Butch, that it has.
Butch wipes the surplus away from his forehead with the back of a gloved hand before unstrapping the gloves adorning his hands and he hangs them around the chain holding the heavy bag in place. He reaches for a towel scrunched up and splayed across the ring apron behind him and mops his face of any excess perspiration. As Mike and Hans reach the bottom of the stairs, Butch meets them half-way, and he fist bumps with Hans and then warmly shakes Mike's hand as the camera crew tailing behind them start to set up their equipment.
(Hans): It'll take a few minutes for them to set up properly, and since I don't quite fancy getting anymore of your sweat on my clothes, you can head for a quick shower if you want.
He smiles, before moving around Butch in an exaggerated fashion, and hopping up onto the apron of the ring set up in the middle of the room, removing his dark blue Superdry zip-up hoody, and draping it over the top rope, as he turns around to face them all, hooking his arms over the rope and bracing himself.
(Butch): My thoughts exactly. I'll only be ten-fifteen minutes or so.
Butch makes his way upstairs and around fifteen minutes later, he returns, fully refreshed and showered, decked out in black Nike training pants with red trim and a the black Glasgow Rangers alternate football shirt, with "9 PARKER" emblazoned across the back. He strolls across the room and steps effortlessly onto the ring apron, holding onto the top rope and leaps with ease over the top, landing inside the ring, and begins to bob on the soles of his feet.
Hans; perched on top of one the turnbuckles, finishes up conversing with one of the camera crew and lowers himself down onto the mat, dipping his head somewhat to avoid a boom mic, and comes to a halt beside Butch; adjusting his official HWA 'The Baron' t-shirt, and smoothing the front of his faded grey jeans.
(Hans): All set then?
(Butch): Aye.
Both men take a step back as one of the camera crew moves in front, trailing a few cables behind him.
(Hans): We passed Wisdom as we pulled in, mentioned something about weddings...
He trails off, as Butch allows a small smile to pass across his face before responding.
(Butch): Yeah, she's got another dress fitting, even though we don't even have a date set. I swear, for a small, simple wedding, this is going to end up looking something not that dissimilar from Ben Hur...
Both men laugh heartily at the comparison before Butch gazes absentmindedly around at the camera crew in place and then he sets his eyes on Mike Anderson.
(Butch): So how is this gonna go, Mike? Just a series of questions and answers, or what?
(Mike Anderson): Yeah, just a series of questions Butch.
He gestures over at an open briefcase set on top of a small steel chair with one hand.
(Mike Anderson): They're over there if you want to prepare yourselves.
Butch cranes his neck round, to where Mike has just pointed and exits the ring, wandering over to a stool where there are two stapled booklets of paper together. He begins to flip through the sheets of proposed questions and hands Hans' copy to him as he joins him as the scene temporarily fades out.
Fading back in, we find Butch and Hans standing side by side in front of the camera, the view looking over the right shoulder of Mike Anderson.
(Mike Anderson): Well, let's begin with something simple to get us going. Hans, why the silence since Havoc? In comparison to the NWO, you may as well have dropped off the face of the earth.
Hans can't help but smirk at this, as he adjusts his footing to place him looking straight on at the camera.
(Hans): What can I say, you let the children play during the day, and at night, the adults can have their fun.
The corners of his mouth continue to tug upwards.
To be continued...
