After the verbal tongue lashing Wisdom had been on the receiving end of from Mrs Shevington's family, most notably her son; the guilt that had weighed on Wisdom's shoulders from the moment she hit that first clothesline had amplified ten-fold.
Butch, bless him, had attempted to make her feel better but without trying to take away from the brave thing, in his eyes, she had done in allowing Butch the opportunity to face Michael James for the HWA World Championship.
However she was not in a forgiving vein this day let alone for herself. Whilst she knew she was the sole reason Butch had been given the opportunity to dethrone Michael James at Road to Ruin, she wasn't one for flaunting it and demanding recognition for allowing Butch the chance to do so.
After all, regardless of what happened to Mrs Shevington; Wisdom wanted retribution, she wanted vengeance...no not vengeance. Revenge wasn't a valid motive, it was more of an emotional response that required physical stimuli to perpetrate the justice needed. No, not vengeance...punishment. Michael James deserved punishment for the countless months of slander, for the awful things he had said about her, about Butch and his legacy, his professional conduct and his manhood, even their precious daughter Evina had not been able to be shielded from the venomous barbs of Michael James' forked tongue. Deep down within the confines of both Butch and Wisdom's souls, they both knew justice had been served and sometimes people got hurt in the way of true justice being handed out.
Butch was keen to keep in physical contact with Wisdom in some shape or form as they made their way home back to Santa Barbara from Montreal. He knew even the slightest touch of his arm or hand on her, whether it was around her waist, around her shoulders, holding her hand, he knew he had some sort of Midas-esque touch that calmed and soothed her like nothing else in the world could.
He pulls Wisdom in close to him as they ride the elevator to the ground floor of the hospital and he leans his head in close, planting a delicate kiss on Wisdom's head through her shining blonde hair. Butch speaks softly to her.
(Butch): I know it's hard but don't take to heart what they were saying. What family wouldn't be upset when a member is in the hospital.
(Wisdom): Hard to think like that when you're talking to the one who put that family member there in the first place.
(Butch): You made a snap decision, babe. You did what you thought was right and no matter what's happens, no matter the results, no matter the consequences, I'll always stand by the decisions you make. You know why?
(Wisdom): Why?
Butch tilts Wisdom's chin up gently using the delicate force of his index finger and he looks deep into her eyes for a moment.
(Butch): Because your my wife and I love you. For better, for worse; remember?
Wisdom can't help, through her anger and turmoil but allow a small smile to tug at the corners of her mouth upon hearing her husband's sentiment. She takes Butch's hand that he used to tilt her chin up and runs it across her cheek before kissing the wedding band wrapped around the body of his ring finger.
(Wisdom): Sometimes I forget how amazing you are, Butch Parker, you know that?
(Butch): I could say the same thing about you, Wisdom Parker. So, like I said before, let's go home and see our daughter and celebrate, shall we? We can't do anymore for Mrs Shevington than we've not already tried.
(Wisdom): Sounds good to me. I just want to give Evina a big kiss and cuddle and watch Frozen three times in a row like we always do.
(Butch): Well that's what we'll do then.
Wisdom's smile this time is a little larger and she comfortingly leans her head onto Butch's shoulder as a pinging sound echoes throughout the small enclosure indicating the elevator has reached its destination.
As the two make their way out of the hospital, arms around each other's waists and towards Butch's car, they are swarmed by the same group of reporters that lambasted them on their way in. Butch immediately knows Wisdom isn't in the frame of mind to be dealing with the media so he takes steps straightaway.
(Butch): Go to the car babe and drive around behind the hospital. I'll deal with these guys and meet you in fifteen minutes, okay?
(Wisdom): Are you sure?
(Butch): One hundred percent. Now go, I'll answer the questions and I'll be with you before you know it.
Wisdom eventually relents and gives Butch a quick kiss on the lips before ducking out of the way of the reporters' attempts to take her picture and ask her questions. Butch gets into character and grabs the rabble's attention.
(Butch): Guys, my wife won't be answering any questions at the moment, you'll have to wait until Havoc to hear more from her. For now, you'll just have to settle for me.
Butch braces himself for the bombardment of questions as the scene, for the moment, fades to black.
