The scene opens out onto the HWA Academy media room set aside for recording promos. (Hans): I feel like I’ll be taking up more time than ever in this room, perhaps I’ll need to set up a rota for those in the Academy now that more and more are making their way onto the roster and our dark matches. He shifts his stance slightly, a look of pity settling on his face. In a low voice, he carries on. (Hans): How bitter, how spiteful Erica. A low sigh emanates, a shake of the head accompanying it. (Hans): You do what you have to do Erica. Wrestling is a difficult business after all… but don’t be surprised when you find yourself discarded by the person you’ve ran to. You want him to ruin the others? Be careful you don’t find yourself sharing the same fate. The camera slowly fades to black.
Hans von Richtoven is standing in the centre of the camera, light gray denim shorts cut just before his knees and a dark green t-shirt covering his torso.
He folds his arms over his chest, wryly smiling as he begins.
Speaking of which, Max and Marcus, fantastic effort. I said that to you both after but it’s good to recognise it on camera as well. Both of you should be proud of the work you’ve put in. I look forward to seeing what you both do next.
That brings me on to a former Academy member.
To be so young and yet so angry with your peers. To see them as false idols and not an inspiration. To believe you should stand above them and yet how you go about that is to lay bare their secrets to Maniac, so that he can bring them to their knees? To be used as an instrument in someone else’s game, and a willing one at that?
I’ve been there Erica.
And it’s because of that that I’m not going to stop you going down this path you’ve chosen.
I can tell you that in the years to come, you’ll look back on your actions in regret.
I’m going to let you take these actions because you need to take responsibility. You reached out to Maniac. You assaulted your fellow Academy wrestlers. You burnt your bridges because you want it now. It’s not your fault that you didn’t open up to someone sooner and speak through the counselling help the Academy offers. It’s not your fault that you mistook the HWA for the US government and that it was Sally from reception holding up your visa application and not the wheels of federal bureaucracy. It’s not your fault that you didn't use the other trainers and wrestlers at the Academy with your schedule clashing with Jeremy and Matt’s time here. It’s not your fault that Matt’s been training away from the Academy the past few weeks as it is because of what your maestro done to him…
A somber expression flits across his face.
