(Sean): Abel, Abel, Abel... It seems you're a bit confused there, mate. Calling out Stu-E Price, huh? That's cute. But let me remind you of something, just in case you've forgotten.
Sean leans back in his gaming chair, a grin spreading across his face.
(Sean): You see, Abel, that callout you're referring to? You know, when I’m covered in sweat, in my ring gear? Yeah, that happened right after my match with Legion. So we’re talking about a time when the next card hadn't even been released yet. Our match…
Sean points to himself and then at the camera, emphasising his reference to himself and Abel.
(Sean): …hadn’t even been signed yet! I mean, it’s no secret I've got my eyes on Stu-E but that's for another time. Right now, it's you and me, Abel.
Sean pauses for a moment, his gaze focused and determined.
(Sean): Now, if you're the studious competitor you claim to be, studying up on your opponents, leading about them, paying such close attention to my every move, maybe you might want to take a step back and reassess. Because If that's how much attention you're giving to your opponents, well... maybe I shouldn’t be as worried about your match as you claim I should be.
A confident chuckle escaped Sean's lips as he leaned forward, the intensity in his eyes growing as he adopts a more serious look
(Sean): Abel, you've got a lot to learn about focus and preparation. While you're busy making baseless assumptions, I'm fine-tuning my technique, sharpening my skills. So, do you really think you have much to worry about in our match? Trust me, Abel, you'll find out soon enough. See, I’ve been watching you too. I seen what you were capable of in that clusterf*ck of a tag match with you, your brother and the Darqsiders. Aye, for a guy your size, you can move and you’ve got skills, but then again, so did Legion and look what I did to him. And guess what? He also claimed to have studied up on me, to memorise my moveset. He also claimed he was gonna break my back again and look how that worked out? I put him to sleep standing up, like he’d been hit with a tranquilliser dart to the neck.
Sean's gaze shifted back to the game paused on his screen, his fingers itching to return to the virtual battleground.
(Sean): I can assure you, Abel, I’m not like any opponent you’ve faced before. I’m gonna move so fast, you’re gonna get motion sickness. I’m gonna jump so high from that top rope, you’re gonna get vertigo and I’m gonna kick you so hard, you won’t know what’s hit you. You’re gonna wake up the next day, doubling over in pain, bruises all over your body. It’s actually fitting I’m facing you, Abel. See, my girlfriend, Michelle, she’s a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints and she’s been showing me a lot of the scripture and readings. Did you know Abel is mentioned in the scriptures of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? That he is considered a significant figure? He’s actually mentioned in the book of Moses, found in the Pearl of Great Price. Do you know the lesson they teach about Abel, after his murder by Cain? They emphasise the the importance and. consequences of sin. See, Abel was known for his faithfulness and offering a pleasing sacrifice to God. He was a shepherd, a caretaker of his flock. But Abel’s story took a tragic turn. He was betrayed, his life cut short by the hands of his own brother. Abel’s tale serves as a reminder of the perils of envy and unchecked anger. Just like in the Bible, I face an Abel of my own, who seeks to bury me. But just like Abel’s story had a consequence, you’re gonna find out the consequences of misjudging exactly what you’re getting yourself in for when you step through those ropes in a few weeks.
With a determined nod, Sean unpauses his game, ready to resume his digital adventure as the scene fades to black.
