(Butch Parker): Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for being here today. I understand that there are pressing matters you'd like to discuss, so let's get started.
Several hands shoot up, and Butch points to a reporter from a reputable sports network.
(Reporter 1): Mr. Parker, first and foremost, how is Michelle Learner doing after the recent incident involving Steven Angel? Can you provide any updates on her condition?
(Butch Parker): Michelle is understandably shaken by the incident, but she is receiving the support and care she needs. Our priority is her well-being and ensuring that she has access to the necessary resources for recovery. We are in constant communication with her and Sean, to provide any assistance they may require during this difficult time.
Another reporter, from a wrestling publication, follows up with a question.
(Reporter 2): Will the Hardcore Wrestling Alliance be taking any legal action against Steven Angel for the sexual assault?
(Butch Parker): The matter is being taken extremely seriously. We have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to any form of misconduct, and this case is no exception. We are fully cooperating with law enforcement, and if there is sufficient evidence, appropriate charges will be filed against Steven Angel. We will spare no effort in ensuring justice is served.
Another journalist, this time from a national news outlet, raises their hand.
(Reporter 3): Mr. Parker, some critics argue that incidents like these highlight the need for greater scrutiny in the wrestling industry. What steps will the Hardcore Wrestling Alliance take to prevent such occurrences in the future?
(Butch Parker): It is indeed a wake-up call for the industry as a whole. We acknowledge our responsibility to provide a safe environment for all our wrestlers and our staff. Going forward, we will be implementing enhanced training programs focused on consent, respect, and promoting a culture of accountability. We will review our policies and procedures, working closely with experts in the field to ensure that we are doing everything within our power to prevent such incidents from happening again.
The room fills with murmurs, and Butch nods, acknowledging the gravity of the situation.
(Butch Parker): We understand the concerns and the need for transparency. We will continue to communicate updates as the investigation progresses. Our commitment to the well-being of our performers, as well as the integrity of the HWA, remains our number one priority.
The room erupts into a chaotic buzz as suddenly Sean Parker, disheveled and determined, bursts into the press conference. His eyes are filled with anger and determination, his voice filled with an unbridled anger. He grabs a microphone.
(Sean): I'm sorry, Uncle Butch, but I can't stay silent any longer. I know you've made your decisions, but this isn't about what you've done. This is about what I'm going to do.
Butch Parker looks stunned, his eyes widening as he watches his nephew take charge of the moment. He grabs Sean by the collar of his shirt and pulls him aside, speaking a hard but hushed tone.
(Butch): Sean, hold on! We’ll sort this out later, this isn’t the time or place.
Sean glares at Butch, his expression a mix of defiance and pain.
(Sean Parker): No, Uncle Butch, there’s no more time for waiting, no more room for silence. I won’t let him get away with it, not for a second longer. What would you do if it was Wisdom?!
The room buzzes with a mix of confusion and curiosity as the assembled media scramble to capture the unfolding drama. Butch responds to Sean urgently, his voice still lowered
(Butch Parker): Sean, please, let’s handle this through the proper channels. I understand your anger, but causing a scene won’t help anyone.
Sean’s gaze remains fixed on his uncle, his determination unyielding.
(Sean Parker): Fallen needs to know, and everyone else needs to hear it. He won’t just walk away from the destruction he’s caused.
Butch looks torn between his role as the owner of the organisation and his familial obligations. He looks resigned.
(Butch Parker): Sean, please, let’s discuss this privately. I promise you, we’ll find a way to bring him to justice. Wisdom and I will support you and Michelle every step of the way.
Sean’s expression softens for a moment, but his resolve remains unwavering.
(Sean Parker): No, Uncle Butch, it has to be now. He needs to see that we won’t let him get away with his actions. Michelle deserves that much. If I see him, I’m gonna f*cking kill him!
Sean barges past Butch can grabs the main mic.
(Sean Parker): Fallen, if you're watching this, listen closely. You may find all of this hilarious but the hilarity stops here, you sick son-of-b*tch!
The room buzzes with a mix of confusion and curiosity as the assembled media scramble to capture the unfolding dramas their cameras flashing and cell phones in camera mode filming.
(Sean): You think you can walk away, untouched, after what you've done? You think Butch you firing is enough? Well, let me tell you, it's not. I don’t care if it’s in a wrestling ring, in the street, outside the arena, I don’t f*cking care!
Sean's voice trembles with a blend of anger and sorrow. Butch tries to pull on Sean’s shirt but he resists.
(Sean): Michelle is my rock, my everything. The pain she endured because of you is something I'll never forgive. So, Fallen, I promise you this, by the time I'm finished with you, they’re gonna have to peel whatever’s left of you off the sidewalk with a f*cking shovel!
The tension in the room becomes palpable, as Sean's words hang in the air. Butch pulls again on Sean’s shirt harder this time and motions off-camera to Red Dragon.
Butch: Sean, that’s enough, come on!
Sean locks eyes with Butch.
(Sean): Butch, you know I respect you, but this is personal. I’m gonna get my hands on that sadistic f*ck one way or another!
(Butch): Sean, believe it or not, I know what you’re going through and I know the anger and the pain is real and it’s fresh. But we need to be realistic here!
Red Dragon suddenly appears alongside Butch, pulling Sean firmly her calmly to the side out of shot of the microphones. He speaks firmly, yet with a hint of compassion.
(Red Dragon): Sean-kun, my student, this is not the way. Let us handle this with reason and strategy, not through an impulsive act.
Sean’s eyes lock with Red Dragon’s, the intensity in his gaze softening slightly, acknowledging the wisdom of his Sensei.
(Sean Parker): But he can’t just walk away, Sensei. He needs to pay for what he’s done!
(Red Dragon): And he will, Sean. But acting on impulse won’t bring the justice you seek. Let’s do things the right way. If you go out seeking justice like some vigilante, what good will that do you or Michelle.
(Butch): Sean, Sensei Matthew is right. We will support you both in seeking justice, but let us do it properly, without compromising the integrity of the process and you as well.
Sean takes a deep breath, the weight of his anger and frustration gradually subsiding.
(Sean): Fine, but I’m making no promises.
Red Dragon places a reassuring hand on Sean’s shoulder, offering silent support and he gently guides Sean off the stage. Butch looks back at the room filled with members of the media and sighs deeply as the scene fades to black.
