(Butch): Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen of the Hardcore Wrestling Alliance. It’s been just over a week since Art of War and the dust has started to settle. Wisdom and I are both very excited to bring Havoc to Salt Lake City. A homecoming for our very own Michelle Learner and a chance to see how everyone responds, both in and out of the ring, to what transpired in Orlando.
Butch pauses for a brief moment before he continues.
(Butch): Which brings me to my next point… Briar Rose and Lilianna Blackthorne. First and foremost, congratulations on the victory over Alexis and Sarah last weekend. You all earned that match of the night purse and contrary to what you think, the match was definitely a lot closer than I’m sure you’re both willing to admit. Nevertheless, I’m proud of the phenomenal effort you both put in to create one of the best tag team wrestling clinics in recent memory…. unfortunately, for you, that’s where your little belly scratch ends…. See I don’t mind employees speaking their mind, this isn’t a dictatorship I’m running after all. But what I expect is my roster members to air their concerns in a constructive manner and on the right forum…. So when I hear you both running your mouths about me and questioning my decision-making on public forum…that just doesn’t sit right with me. So let me just remind you both of how things work around here. See Wisdom and I? We’ve been in this business a looooong time. I dare say you both were in diapers when I was making my in-ring debut…
Butch pauses again to allow his words to sink in.
(Butch): So when I make a decision about who is suspended or who is hired or fired or whatever… I don’t expect to be questioned in an on-air promo… and I certainly don’t have to explain my reasoning or decisions past either of you. I don’t care if Luna Rain is your best friend, your sister or your goddamn pen-pal, I don’t even care that she’s the daughter of William Draconis. See, not only did all three of you breach your contracts, you also may have opened up HWA to legal issues you cannot possibly comprehend because you do not run this company! You think I denied Sean and Fallen the Thunder Cage match out of spite? If you were paying any attention during the Press Conference, you would have heard that it was not legally possible to obtain a permit under the Greater Orlando Sports Commission to have a match of such danger so close to the PPV.
Butch looks very pissed off now.
(Butch): So, not only did you endanger the lives of two of my employees, because I’m sure you didn’t even have the slightest of clues what the voltage on that cage even was, you have potentially endangered HWA from ever holding an event in Orlando ever again. And you both have the audacity to say how dare I suspend your friend? You have the audacity to demand that your trios match at Havoc is an extreme rules match as an excuse to use weapons whilst disgracing the name of Terry Funk? And Briar, you have the audacity to demand from me a match and an opponent of your choosing should you be victorious?
A snort of derision shoots from Butch’s nostrils as he rolls eyes and shakes his head.
(Butch): As far as I am concerned, you two can count yourselves extremely lucky you are also not suspended alongside Luna, let alone have a match at Havoc! In fact, that prize money you both awarded for that match last week? Kiss it goodbye because you are both fined $50,000 apiece.
So, if you've got an issue, you bring it to us, privately, in a professional manner. You don't air your grievances in public where it can damage not only your own reputation but also the reputation of this company. We're a team, and we need to present a united front to our fans and sponsors.
Butch's miffed expression intensifies slightly.
(Butch): Now, I understand the passion and fire that comes with being a wrestler. Hell, I've lived it. But remember, there's a line between passion and recklessness. Crossing that line won't get you anywhere except maybe a one-way ticket out of the HWA.
He leans forward, his fingers tapping on the desk for emphasis.
(Butch): Briar, Lilianna, I'm giving you both a chance here. You're talented, and I believe you can contribute a lot to this company. But let's get something straight – disrespecting the management, disrespecting me, that's not how we do things. If you've got issues, you come to me. You come to Wisdom. And we'll address them.
His tone softens a touch as he finishes his impromptu address.
(Butch): HWA is like a family. We'll have disagreements, but at the end of the day, we work them out together. So let's move forward with respect, professionalism, and the drive to make this company the best it can be. Salt Lake City is our next stop, and I expect each and every one of you to show the world what HWA is all about.
He straightens up, his expression returning to a more neutral stance.
(Butch): Thank you for your time. Let's make it a great show in Salt Lake City.
Butch ends the feed abruptly and the scene fades to black.
