So, how does this work? Well, it couldn't be simpler... Basically, if you throw a good game in Division 1 or Division 2 (Open Division is currently excluded from this bonus), you win money every time you do it! This is for games pitched in both round one and round two of our tournaments. Bracket Finals games are excluded from this payout. For those of you unfamiliar with Pro Tour play, we employ a three round system: two rounds of round robin play on Saturday (round one is a qualifier and round two is elimination) and the bracket finals on Sunday. This "Big Game Challenge" is essentially a bonus payout separate from what the players might win by making it into the finals and placing high in the tournament standings. It's a game by game thing, open to all D1 and D2 players and is meant to give people a chance to win some cash even if they don't make it into the finals. So, to win this money, you don't have to make the cut into the finals... you don't have to win the round... in fact, you don't even have to win the game! If you throw enough ringers in any qualifying game, you win cash every time! If both players do it in a game, then they both win cash! Pretty simple, eh?
So, to summarize, in keeping with our tradition of rewarding excellence, if you're one who pitches a lot of good individual games in tournaments, as you can plainly see, you can actually make some nice money here in our PTO's even if you don't rank high in the overall tournament standings. Frankly, you can totally bomb out on wins and losses and still bank some cash and I don't know of too many sports where you can say that! This is the equivalent of getting paid for just one good lap in a race or one good inning in a ball game... It's unheard of! (Well, it was unheard of... until now!) http://www.horseshoepitching.com/forum2/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=257.0;attach=20
