Re: Major Pro Tour Announcement
On the subject of participation at a Pro Tour event, I recently had a question about if a player entered an event early, was their average locked in for that division. The answer is "no", our procedure for this is that players enter, and we place them in the division they sign up for (which may be correct at the time), but at deadline, Mike and I go over all the player averages to make sure everyone is correctly in their division. If someone's average has changed that qualifies them for another division, either up or down, I notify them of the change and they have options from there. Remember, our divisions have limits at 40% for DII, and 60% for DI. Players are allowed to play up if you have a 30% minimum average, in most cases it's an avenue for Open Division players to stay away from mixed play if they choose, and to play for more money as the Open Division is our only division not sponsored. If averages change after the deadline, they stay where they are because the setup has begun for that event. Ron
