when in graduate school at Southern, late 1966 or 'early '67, I turned on the 11:00 Nightly News, Hattiesburg. The news anchor, giving his obviously very first live news cast, was Boyd Gatlin! As soon as he was off the air, I called the station. We had a fun conversation about the first day on the first job and career choices. I'm not sure how long he stayed in television news before moving on. We were all so happy he and his wife Leslie were at our June, Class of '63 Get Together. We will miss our Class President.
