Class it 67

Does anyone in class of 67 remember Edgar Carter. He lived a couple of houses east of Dr. Austin’s house. This guy and I where good friends up till fourth grade. He has been on my mind periodically for years. I can’t remember when they moved

Steve and Kay,
Edgar Cater is the son of Elizabeth Carter Coleman who was the daughter of Mrs. Ellie Coleman. Miss Ellie worked at Stevens Department Store for many years and did live on Hwy 80. He had an older brother, Buster who was a Vietnam veteran. Their father Ham Carter was in the military and they eventually moved to Monroe Louisiana.

I enjoyed having a long conversation with Elizabeth Carter about her days living in Forest at Elizabeth's beautiful home in Monroe, Louisiana a few years ago. She told me what Forest was "really" like in those days. I can not repeat any of her hilarious stories for fear it might insult somebody's relatives. Elizabeth's oldest son Buster was killed in Vietnam and Buster is buried alongside his father Ham, in the Eastern Cemetery in Forest. Buster left behind a wife and two beautiful daughters who live in Monroe. Elizabeth said that her younger son Edgar is a successful business owner living in New Orleans , Louisiana with his wife Julie and a son and daughter.

Nancy, right after I posted that, Kelly told me I was thinking of Buster, his classmate in ‘62. I didn’t remember that he had a younger brother Edgar, but I do remember his connection to Miss Ellie.
